Sandy Springs, Georgia; December 27, 2004: Heritage Sandy Springs presents “2004 Sandy Springs Festival” on Saturday, September 18th, 2004 from 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, September 19th, 2004 from 12:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. Celebrating its 19th year, the two-day Festival is the largest annual event in Sandy Springs, drawing over 25,000 people. The Festival will take place at the Sandy Springs Historic Site and Sandy Springs Circle. Open to the public and to all ages, the Festival welcomes adults, teens and children. As always the Children's Park will include a petting zoo and panning for gold. New to the Festival in 2004, the Teen Territory will include the bungee jump and rock climbing wall, often some of the most popular Festival attractions. Heritage Sandy Springs Presents Collector Car Show as part of the 2004 Sandy Springs Festival


Sandy Springs, Georgia; July, 2004: Sandy Springs, Georgia; July, 2004: Heritage Sandy Springs presents the Collector Car Show as part of the 19th annual Sandy Springs Festival. The Car Show will take place throughout the length of the two-day Festival on Saturday, September 18th, 2004 from 9a.m.-6.pm. and on Sunday, September 19th, 2004 from 12p.m.- 5p.m. The Collector Car Show is an informal and casual show where "any type of vehicle is allowed" said Car Show Co-Chair, Rick Kamen, "but generally, the cars range from the 1920s through the 1970s models." Come out and see the cars on display and vote for the best one because everyone is a judge at this Car Show. The Car Show has been a part of the Festival for over 15 years and creates yet another fun, educational, and historical aspect of the Festival that everyone enjoys. Heritage Sandy Springs Presents the Heritage Crafters as a part of 2004 Sandy Springs Festival


Sandy Springs, Georgia; July, 2004: Heritage Sandy Springs presents the Heritage Crafters as a part of the 19th annual two day Sandy Springs Festival on Saturday, September 18th, 2004 from 9a.m.-6p.m. and on Sunday, September 19th, 2004 from 12 p.m.- 5 p.m. The Crafters demonstrate and teach the historic crafts every year for the 25,000+ people attending the Festival. The crafts are unique to the historic period of the later 1800s, the era of the Williams-Payne House. Some of the crafts included in the festivities this year will be blacksmithing, broom making, fabric doll making, lacing, quilting, porcelain doll making, rug hooking, sheep shearing, spinning, woodcarving, and more! Heritage Sandy Springs presents annual "Pet Parade" as part of 2004 Sandy Springs Festival


Sandy Springs, Georgia; July, 2004: Heritage Sandy Springs presents the annual Kiwanis Pet Parade as part of 2004 Sandy Springs Festival on Saturday, September 18th, 2004 at 11 a.m. The parade has become a favorite, unique tradition to "bring out all the kids with pets and also adults," said Pet Parade Chair and Sandy Springs Kiwanis Chapter President, Mark Irle. Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m., and all kinds of pets are encouraged and invited. The contestants are asked to dress up and be creative for the Parade. Awards will be presented in categories including Most Unusual Pet, Smallest Pet, Largest Pet, and Best Look Alike. Heritage Sandy Springs Receives Grant from Target Stores


Minneapolis (December 20, 2004) - Heritage Sandy Springs has announced it was a recipient of a $5,000 grant from Target Stores. This money was used to fund the entertainment for the Children's Park at the 19th annual Sandy Springs Festival this year. "We are honored to receive monies from Target Corporation. Its consistent support of the Sandy Springs community is invigorating-from donating dollars to staff involvement, Target serves as a good neighbor and a true supporter of the local community," said Judy Vitucci, Executive Director of Heritage Sandy Springs. Heritage Sandy Springs is preparing now for the 20th anniversary of the Sandy Springs Festival. Target Stores, along with parent company Target Corporation, has a strong tradition of giving back to the communities where it does business, and this year that giving will amount to over $2 million a week. That commitment is reflected in Target Stores' grantmaking program, which supports projects that promote education, the arts, and family violence prevention. "At Target we feel it is not only our responsibility to give back to the community, we feel it is our privilege," says Laysha Ward, Vice President of Community Relations. "Heritage Sandy Springs is doing incredible things to help strengthen our communities."
